We are Nathan, Laurel, Nandry, Boaz and Asher Conrod. We are missionaries to the Baka of Cameroon, Africa. We live among the Baka people in order to show them the love of Christ and to explain to them the salvation He has provided.
Laurel grew up in Pennsylvania and I, Nathan, in Virginia Beach. We both started at Columbia International University in the fall of 1996. There we met (and the rest is history :-).
We joined World Team in 2000 and went to Cameroon in the summer of 2001 for our internship. That is when we decided that we wanted to work long term with the Baka people of south-eastern Cameroon. So, we finished up school in 2002 and started on our long journey of becoming missionaries.
From April 2004 until the summer of 2005 we lived in Québec City to study French so that we would be able to get along in Cameroon. After we finished with our studies we flew to Cameroon in September 2005.
We then moved to Cameroon, Africa (Sept. '05) and lived out "in the bush" with the Baka for almost three years learning their language and culture. We were able to understand more and more of their language as well as develop many relationships which we hope will be fertile ground for the spread of the Good News.
We are now back in Virginia visiting family, friends and supporters and trying to raise more support in order to return to Cameroon next July (2009).Contact us at any time by writing to nathan.conrod@worldteam.org
